[LG top load washing machine error code] [Winter] E3 appears on the display

Troubleshooting

What is the E3 display?

➔ The [E3] error is displayed if there is malfunction in the drainage motor.

The E3 error may also occur if the water in the washing machine is frozen due to cold winter weather.

Try this

Thaw the tub and the drainage hose using warm water.

➔ If the water in the washing machine has melted but the error persists or it is not winter, request visiting service in order to have the checked by a service technician.

Thawing the tub and the drainage hose
1. Open the door of the washing machine and take out any laundry.
If there is water inside, remove the water.

2. Pour 50-60ºC warm water into the tub, close the door of the washing machine, and wait for 1 or 2 hours. (This may take more than 2 hours depending on the operating environment.)

If the [OE]/Unable to Drain error is displayed, it is because the drainage hose is frozen.
Soak a towel with warm water, and wrap the frozen drainage hose with the towel to melt the ice.

3. Turn on the power, and select and start [Spin]/Spin Only to completely remove any water remaining inside the washing machine.
No water coming out means the ice has not melted sufficiently. Wait a little longer to drain water.
